A father and daughter live in isolation, in a wooden home by a river. The setting sun’s light sets the atmosphere. The story follows Hushpuppy, a five year old girl on a mission to save her world from a devastating flood in a visionary tale that pays tribute to the hardships of the American South. This chronicle of a journey that will test the boundaries between man and beast is a visually sophisticated and hypnotic film about a child’s struggle with her demons that offers up a modern-day legend about death and life in a post-apocalyptic dreamworld. It gets under your skin, taps into your soul, and lights the imagination. Prepared by: Anna Bielak Information about directorBenh Zeitlin Born in 1982 in New York, USA.
