Programme 2012
The Karol Irzykowski Film Studio

Yet another must-see feature of the 12th Festival will be the review of films produced at the Karol Irzykowski Film Studio, operating in 1981-2005 that experienced its golden age in the 1980s.

The studio was a focal point for young graduates from the Łódz and Katowice Film Schools that successfully offered an artistic alternative to increasingly commercialized Polish cinema and was the forum for the debut of more than a dozen excellent Polish directors. Among the 30 sometimes somewhat forgotten films, this section will feature A Farewell to Autumn by Mariusz Treliński, Control (Nadzór) by Wiesław Saniewski, Kornblumenblau by Leszek Wosiewicz, Madhouse by Marek Koterski, Funeral of a Potato (Pogrzeb kartofla) by Jan Jakub Kolski, Sunday Pranks by Robert Gliński, I Want to Scream by Jacek Skalski, as well as numerous rarely seen shorts and television features.
