Film description

After the Battle is one of the first films to consider the effects and hopes of the Egyptian revolution. The plot is based on real events occurring on Tahrir Square on 2 February 2011, when a group of horse and camelback riders manipulated by the Mubarak regime attacked demonstrators and provoked an aggressive confrontation among his supporters and detractors. As the director follows one of the riders, he moves to the world of fiction to submerge the audience in the story of a man belittled and rejected by society in a country suspended between deep conservatism and temptations of modern freedoms that cannot separate the private from the political.
