Film description

Something’s wrong here. Dolph’s dog has disappeared. His neighbor tells lies and heads off in a yellow car for the wild blue yonder. Everyone is acting strange. It’s pouring cats and dogs in the office. The water runs down the walls and drips onto computer screens, but no one pretends to notice, even Dolph, who got the pink slip a month ago. No one knows the time in this world that’s mired in an absurd Beckettian time warp. Someone kidnapped Dolph’s dog, Paul. A telephone operator moves into Paul’s house. A comely spruce is sprouting in the yard. Will Mr. Chang’s presence in the neighborhood spawn symbolic Lynchiannightmares or hilarious hijinks à la the Cohen brothers? Can anyone guess what will happen next?

Information about director

Quentin Dupieux

Born in 1974 in Paris, France. At the age of 12, he finds a camera and starts filming everything he sees. It soon becomes necessary for him to create music to go with his images. In 1999 he directs six advertising films. He then decides to auto-produce and make the absurd medium length feature Nonfilm (2001). The film is an underground cult hit. In 2006, he shoots Steak, his first feature film, with top French comic duo Eric & Ramzy. In 2008, he records a new album, shoots a short film, works on a script for a new feature film (Réalité) and shoots a fake documentary about himself. A year later, eager to shoot again, he writes the killer-tire-movie Rubber in a flash and shoots the film in Los Angeles in two weeks. The film was 2010 sensation in Cannes. Wrong is his third feature.
